Soul of machine

Soul to me is something you don’t see. For something’s, some functions we don’t know how it happens, we just know that it happens and we know the output.

For example, we don’t know which energy in our body makes our heart beat, our bodies grow. We just know that some life force is present in our body at time of birth, which goes out one day. We can call it soul.

Now, let us see how we have created the soul for machines. In computers there is a concept of encapsulation or hiding. Computers usually have 2-3 layers, like first operating system then application software. The application software doesn't know the exact and all working of OS, it just knows input/output combination.

Since the end user who interacts with computer is just interacting with final layer and doesn't see the all working of computer, from his reference point the computer has a soul. Because he don’t understand or see how things works. He just knows that there is some OS which works, carries and stores my data in form of binary.

So, as every machine has a major portion of working style hidden from us, it many times behaves in unexpected way, which our beyond our comprehension. Just like human souls expect unexpected from machines also, as they have develop their own soul.
